It might not be obvious at first glace, but our large-scale operations are what we do very best, and have done for over 20 years running. We supply some of the UK’s largest housing builders and contractors with the timber they use to construct the houses, known as Structural C16/24 timbers, these are the skeleton of all new builds. Essentially, they couldn’t get the job done without us!

Were proud to be a key supplier of vast quantities of structural, eco-friendly timber for over 20 years running, up and down the Midlands.

Trusting relationships with large companies – Why us?

Timber Yard Direct Products LTD was established over 20 years ago, and in that time we have built up strong working relationships with some of the Midlands largest housing builders and large-scale contractors being their bulk timber supply go-to.

The reason for this is simple, we care about providing the best service, timber and prices we possibly can, and this shows in our work and how we manage our customer base.

Customers who need the right thing the first time with no hiccups value Timber Yard Direct, because we value them. At our core we are a small family run company that help large scale operations throughout the midlands succeed year after year. You don’t get a personal touch with many others who supply timber at our level.

First Fix Timbers

What are first-fix timbers? First Fix timbers make up the structure of a building, created during the initial construction stage, they include: stud walls, roof trusses, staircases, floors and ceilings, window frames and door frames. Think of what’s behind the nicely finished door frame you see at home, there’s a stud wall framework with a bare timber door frame on it.

It’s the same for your ceiling or floor, there are joists within which give structure for all the floorboards to sit in place. This timber needs to pass strict grading tests before it can be sold for such use. All our timber is accredited and stress tested before it gets to our yard, ensuring our bulk supply timber is of the highest quality.

First fix takes place before any other work, even before plumbing and electrical work- both provide utility to the new building, they need somewhere to be fitted to, and this is the key structure that our first fix timbers provide. In the majority of cases, all first fix construction is hidden by the plasterwork, skirting and architrave, window boards and fixtures.

Second Fix Timbers

The final stage of building work on any new construction, second fix timbers cover many different aspects of the houses we all live in, such as: door lining kits and doors, windows and window boards, stair components like bannisters, railings, newels or end posts, pine and MDF skirting boards and architrave which both cover the most worn areas of door frames and walls respectively. We can also supply sheets for worktops, walls, ceilings and roofs, as well as PAR for shelving and building wardrobes and units.

Working for our customers’ unique requirements is the bottom line, we custom make door lining kits and machine timber to your exact specification like skirting boards, trims or specialist joinery work.

We can order in the specific profiles you need, and get timbers treated or graded to meet your specification.

We can work with you on payment terms and limits, each customer is dealt with on a separate basis to ensure we always provide the best service possible.

Dedicated Delivery Service

All the quality timber in the world would be useless without it getting to you on time.

We won’t outsource our deliveries to other companies as we prefer to keep it personal, so we have our own fleet of trucks to cater to our customers’ needs.

A big part of building such long-standing relationships with our customers is that we understand you need timber promptly- if it’s not there when you need it, things start to go wrong.

Tried and true, our preferential delivery service ensures that our large-scale customers and contractors are not left short, and we adhere strictly to our agreements.

Quality Assurance – ISO9001, FSC, PEFC and Chain of Custody – Why is it important?

If you’re in the trade you already know just how important accreditation and certification is. The CoC (Chain Of Custody) is extremely important to the integrity of the timber trade overall.

When you build with timber, you have to prove you’re doing it responsibly, by procuring large timber orders from suppliers who are accredited by the FSC and PEFC, showing you have followed the correct chain of custody for your building. It goes without saying that all our timber is fully accredited.

All our structural softwood timbers are stress graded to C16 or C24 and are suitable for all major construction works.

We can provide manufacturers sheets for any of our timber, such as sheets, structural timber, or skirting and architrave.

Commitment To Service

Our amazing Google reviews unfortunately do not reflect the long and trust-driven relationships we have built up with hundreds of major contractors and companies over the past 20 years, only our DIYer and small company customers go on Google to leave reviews. So whilst you can appreciate how good we treat members of the public and tradesmen, its hard to overstate how much pride we take in how we deal with our large-scale accounts customers and building positive relationships with them.
