What Can Softwood Sleepers Be Used For?

There are many applications of softwood sleepers, with five popular uses including everything from raised flower beds, for which softwood timber is ideal thanks to our pressure treatment, to garden edging and borders, steps and even benches and tables.

I have been using these folks for the past couple of years. The name may have changed but the staff have been brilliant.
From the office staff to the driver. The professional approach If they said they will deliver on a day its there. So, I'm not a trader but a DIY guy finishing of his property. I'm hoping after the name change, more trader's will buy from this company and keep them in business.

Got a sheet of MDF for a DIY wall panelling. Much cheaper than these kits at the big stores. I went with the dimensions and cuts. The Person who dealt with me was super helpful and knowledgeable. They also did the cuts for me and even gave me any excess material left over.

Need More Answers About Our Softwood Sleepers?

1. What areas do you cover for delivery?

We deliver across the UK from our Coventry base. If you are located within 30 miles of our base, you will receive free delivery. We only use trusted couriers to deliver our timber products and will call you directly to tell you when your chosen softwood sleepers are going to be delivered.

2. How long do softwood sleepers last?

Thanks to the treatment we provide for new softwood sleepers, they are designed to last for up to and over 20 years with proper care and maintenance.

3. Can you lay sleepers directly on top of soil?

Yes, sleepers can be laid directly on top of soil. Our sleepers are treated to Use Class 3. While this means they are resistant to things like moisture they will benefit from added protection such as a pond liner when using them as a retaining wall or sunken pathway. Lay these on the back of the sleepers where they would touch the soil.

4. What other types of wooden sleepers do you stock?

We stock hardwood sleepers and pine sleepers that are pressure treated to the highest standards.

5. How do you protect softwood sleepers?

While our softwood sleepers have been pressure-treated to allow for long outdoor use and resistance to the elements, we recommend staining the sleepers with clear wood oil or decking oil that doesn’t have UV filters. We supply a range of timber treatments that are ideal for protecting softwood sleepers.
